two years ago, Amazon had for the first time its Kindle Fire tablets. Today, the giant global e-commerce announces an update of its Kindle Fire HD and the release of a new tablet, the Kindle Fire HDX.
Let’s start with the new Kindle Fire HD
With the arrival of the Kindle Fire HDX HD range of tablet Amazon will undergo a minor facelift. In fact, the 7-inch version will propose the following features:
- 7 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels
- A dual-core 1.5 GHz processor
- 8 or 16 GB of internal memory

Now to the new tablet from Amazon, the Kindle Fire HDX
You should know that this tablet will be available in two versions. First with a 7-inch screen and a second with a 8.9-inch screen.
The first thing to note about these new tablets is the impressive screen resolution proposed. In fact, the 7-inch version will offer a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels called “WUXGA” (for “Wide Ultra Extended Graphics Array”). With this resolution, the 7-inch tablet will propose 323 ppi (pixels per inch).
It’s not bad, but wait a bit because the 8.9-inch version of the Kindle Fire HDX is even better! Indeed, the latter offers this time a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels called “WQXGA” (for “Wide Quad eXtended Graphics Array”). This time we reach the 339 dpi! To follow these impressive resolutions, Amazon we integrate a quad-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 2.2 GHz 800 in its two new tablets.
Regarding storage capacity, the Kindle Fire will offer the choice HDX 16, 32 or 64GB of internal memory and 2 GB of RAM.
Unlike the Kindle Fire HD, HDX release will include a front camera HD in its 7 inch version and a front HD camera plus a 8 megapixel sensor at the rear of the unit in its 8.9-inch version.
