Kindle for Android 4.3.0: font collections and the editor menu - CNETFrance

The 4.3 version of Kindle for Android now integrates the management of collections from the application and allows you to read the text with the font editor.

The first novelty of this update is the availability of collections. If these collections already existed on eReaders and applications, they were not up there shortly synchronized. You could already create collections on a device, but then had to create the same thing on another if you use more than one (eg smartphone application and reading lamp).

Since the new version of Kindle on iOs, said “Cloud” collections were made available this synchronization. A change from the application reverberated almost instantly on the reading light and vice versa.

It is now the turn of Google Play application to know the same update, and you can now simply transfer an ebook in a collection. For this, a long press on the cover of an ebook opens a menu in which tops the list “Add to collection”. Any addition to a collection, creating a collection or suppression affects well on all devices then.

The second novelty is the possibility to use the fonts in the editor. This is all the more significant that on Android Kindle does not offer the choice of fonts unlike the application on iOs. I found that it does not work for all ebooks but on some it is appreciable. The screenshot below shows the menu, but does not do justice to fonts.

The previous update had integrated immersive way available since late November on Android 4.4 and allows you to use each pixel of the screen to display the application. With this new update, the application for Android continues to grow. Between carousel of content (since last April), while playing immersive, collections and font editor mode, this 4.3.0 allows Kindle in any case continue to improve his reading application which is still the industry standard .

The application is available here on Google Play.
