In 2011, Samsung acquired Liquavista and begins to announce technology equipped with flexible displays in full color. However, the announcement effect past, Samsung never will use the purchase of this company and none of the promised products will be sold. Liquavista however, is not lost on everyone.
Amazon, one of the market leaders with its Kindle electronic reading light, confirmed the acquisition of Liquavista Samsung. The company intends to enjoy the “electrowetting display” technology (display by electro) that allows a flexible touch display, full color and low power consumption.
transaction between Amazon and Samsung have been less than $ 100 million. Although Samsung has never really taken advantage of the flexible display, the sale seems to sound like the abandonment of the market for the reading lamp manufacturer.
rumors of a reading light color E Ink already existed and this recent news seems a little more credible. Although color e-readers have been announced with the PocketBook Lux Color, Amazon could launch the product on a large scale and settle permanently on the market.
