The Digital Reader discovered in the United States, Hachette publisher has in the pipeline a site with many advantages. EbooksForAll has never been started, but according to sources close to the project, it had to offer securities Kindle and EPUB, from the catalog of the publisher.
The project has not emerged, and soon, a spokesman for the American group recognized that it was for the moment put aside – as well as other experiments that can be conducted. However, two points are notable, around this ebookstore. The first is that the domain name was purchased in June 2010 and reactivated in April 2014 that is to say, a few weeks before the conflict with Amazon only became public.
But the heart of this contract dispute, were marketing digital books and their selling price. With EbooksForAll, Hachette Book Group had a tool to purchase ebooks in Kindle format, which customers could download directly to their devices.
The only evidence of the existence of this site is on Twitter, with an interesting name: HBG Test,ebooksforall. Except that it was opened in September 2011 and the account was never released any message.
