Apple announced Tuesday the iPad Air , the new generation of its tablet with a screen 9.7 inches. It is thinner, smaller and lighter. The online store Amazon has just taken the term and published on the homepage of its U.S. site “Lighter than Air” (lighter than air). The pun is very subtle because the capital to “Air” sets the tone. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX weighs 374 grams against 469 grams for the iPad 9.7-inch Air. It is true that Amazon’s tablet is lighter than its competitor. However, the screen is smaller, which plays upon arrival in the balance.
HDX Kindle Fire was announced last month and sold there are few. A 7-inch model is available with a resolution of 1920 × 2560 × 1200 against 1600 for the 8.9-inch model. They are equipped with a Snapdragon processor 800 along with 2 GB of RAM. The HDX Kindle Fire 7 “starts at 229 euros and 379 euros for the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9″. For its part, the mini iPad 2 starts at 399 euros and 489 euros for the iPad Air.
