Apple has virtually abandoned the project of iBooks Author, following many bugs since the last update, the hunt is on for competitors. So Amazon has just introduced its own application for creating interactive manuals and books: Kindle Textbook Creator

The application Kindle Textbook Creator is available in beta for Mac (OS X 10.8+) and PC (Windows 7 +). This application Kindle Textbook Creator does not create zero pounds but to convert text files (Word, HTML, Mobi or ePub) or illustrated (PDF preexisting manuals) into interactive books. Products and files playable on computer (Mac or PC), tablet (iPad, Android or Fire) and even smartphone (iPhone or Android).

Once formatted, the books are sent to Amazon , which offers a specific program to educational resources. Students can then highlight passages, take notes, consult the built logged dictionary and create memory cards. The set is grouped into a “book” digital, Whispersync synchronized on all compatible devices!
