As we know, the presence of mobile digital devices in the educational world, the world of business, a major challenge for the different brands on the market. If Apple has understood offering for some time already its iBooks Author solution to produce manuals, Amazon back in the race with Kindle Textbook Creator.
A tablets in all schools and students who are working on it every day, that’s exactly what the future might hold if we listen to the various political and tablet manufacturers. In reality, we are still far from this situation, even if the equipment rate of students and teachers continues to grow.
To meet the needs of teachers and support in their teaching practice, the solutions are increasing in order to build on shelf courses or textbooks that resemble what we already know on paper. If this mimicry is perhaps not in itself the solution to adopt the digital scale class it has at least the merit of relying on a practice already in place, and so comforting the teachers most reluctant to switch to new technologies

It is in this light that Apple had the first unsheathed his solution to produce manuals on a Mac before sending them on an iPad. iBooks Author makes it possible to insert text, video, image, animation or small exercises for pupils who can highlight or take notes directly from their manual. If Apple’s solution was very attractive, we must admit that she now suffers from some bugs and a little older, not having been updated.
Since this weekend, it also has a direct competitor that comes to us straight from Amazon, Kindle Textbook Creator. Additional Kindle Direct Publishing Brick Education Programme (KDP EDU), the solution Amazon has the primary advantage of being available on Macs and PCs, unlike iBooks Author.
The solution also enables it to produce manuals from their computer before exporting them on a tablet (iPad, Kindle Fire, Android tablets …) or on a smartphone. Again the student can act on its digital book highlighting the elements or by working with flashcards to memorize the points addressed by the manual.

To work, the teacher will leave a PDF, Word, HTML, ePub … but do not start a zero project as this is possible on iBooks Author. Still in beta, there are chances that the program evolves in the future and gaining new features. We also hope that Amazon will not put aside Kindle Textbook Creator as Apple could do with iBooks Author. A first grip helps to understand that Kindle Textbook Creator does not go as far as its competitor in the creation of a digital manual.
Finally, as its direct competitor, Amazon offers through its Store to put the textbooks available to the public and students. Like Apple, it leaves 70% of the revenue to the developer and keeps 30% of revenue in the process.
So a new attractive solution for teachers, especially as it is not restricted to run on Mac, but is open to all ecosystems.
