Even the Amazon Kindle Fire tablets are plummeting – Frandroid

A study on tablet sales raises the fact that Amazon has obtained very poor results this year with its Kindle Fire.

A recent IDC study on the tablet market showed a general lack of interest of the population for these products . There obviously has many reasons for this, starting with the size of our smartphones that continues to evolve, but also a need for any renewal for tablets. Thus, the study highlights that only Lenovo gets to pull out of the game in this market, with its very good Yoga Tablet for example, while all other major manufacturers sell less year after year.

But there is one for which the fall is breathtaking. If Apple, Samsung, Asus or register a fuck respectively 17.8%, 18.4% and 24.9% between 2013 and 2014, Amazon faces a decrease of almost 70 % of sales of Kindle Fire tablets . The manufacturer and e-commerce giant has therefore more than 2.3% market share 1700000 of elapsed products. Over the same period in 2013, the fourth quarter of the year, Amazon had sold 5.8 million tablets and had 7% market share. It was thus the third slate sender, just behind Apple and Samsung.

Unhappy with this study, Amazon has tried to respond by explaining that the latter does not take into account sales its Fire Tablet 6 inches. IDC is explained, whereas low Product diagonal screen did not make relevant presence in this study. And as some point out, though Amazon had sold 1 million units of this product, the decline in sales would still be disproportionate, with 50% decrease from one year to another.

Amazon will actually have floor on solutions to make its products attractive again. I must say it has certainly suffered from bad publicity to its Fire Phone.
